Privacy
Equivl has no accounts, sets no cookies of its own, and runs no analytics or trackers.
What you compare stays in your browser
Code, text, data, tables, documents, images, recordings and files are read
and compared on your device. None of them is uploaded. Your editor contents,
settings and run history are kept in your browser's own storage, and clearing
the site's data removes them. A share link carries its whole comparison in the
part of the URL after #, which browsers do not send to any
server.
The AI models behind the semantic scores are downloaded from equivl.dev itself, only when you press the button that states their size, and then run on your device.
The one thing kept on a server
When a run needs a language this site does not host, a prompt offers to let you know if it ever is. If you leave an address there, Equivl stores the address you type, the language, and the date, and nothing else: not your IP address and not anything about your browser. It is kept in a database in Equivl's own Cloudflare account, used only to send that one notice, and never shared or sold. It is deleted once the language is hosted and the notice is sent, or once hosting it is ruled out.
To have your address deleted sooner, write to privacy@equivl.dev.
Hosting
Cloudflare serves this site. Like any host, it handles your IP address and the details of each request in order to deliver pages and fend off abuse, under its own privacy policy. Equivl keeps no request logs of its own.
